Education and Work History

Luke graduated from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN, in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering. After college in the summer of 2013, Luke began working at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Seattle, WA.

At AWS, Luke started his career in the Identity and Access Management team, working with the various identity and customer-facing permissions systems within AWS. Luke's major contributions within IAM include was IAM Managed Policies, the Cognito User Pools idenity backend, and major scaling and resiliency improvements within the IAM internal systems. Luke worked with other AWS teams to design their own authorization rules, design for multi-region resiliency, and streamline their use of Identity products.

In 2026, Luke joined the EC2 Edge organization to focus on new edge computing services.
